Program Description: Programming for the 2019 edition of the Native Hawaiian Data Book
Purpose: The Native Hawaiian Data Book is the creation of Demography (DEMO), Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA). The data book makes available, in a single document, a diversity of statistical data on the Native Hawaiian people and community, offering a numerical representation of the social and economic status of the Native Hawaiian population residing in the State of Hawai‘i and on the Continental United States.

DEMO supports and maintains the Native Hawaiian Data Book. The Native Hawaiian Data Book provides research that sheds new light on such important trends as Native Hawaiian health, education and economic well-being. The data book makes the task of gathering essential information on Native Hawaiians easier for decision makers, policy developers, program planners, students, researchers or anyone applying for OHA grants. In addition, it helps engage the local community and all levels of government in OHA’s coordinated efforts to improve conditions for Native Hawaiians.
